Hatcher Pass, Alaska, USA, Canon Rebel XS, Rokinon 14mm f/2.8, f/8, 1sec, ISO 100
It was late in the evening as I drove up the winding road through Hatcher Pass. I pulled into the parking lot just before the paved road ends and the bumpy dirt road goes up the mountain. I got out my camera bag and started walking up towards some old mining buildings about a quarter of a mile away. Along the way I stopped to check out a stream meandering its way down the valley. I set up my tripod and took a 1-second exposure to blur the moving water. As soon as I saw the image on my LCD screen, I knew the image had to be black and white.
